Shoreline Hotel

We acted as design consultants on this fabulously positioned hotel on the beach in North County Dublin. Recently purchased by a long standing client, Choice Hotel Group, we did outline schemes which were implemented by project managers MMCA and Global Design Concepts (GDC). The previous iteration of the hotel gave no hint of its location until well into the bar. We moved the reception desk, giving the guests a seating and afternoon tea area from which to enjoy the view. The repositioned reception desk then broke the long corridor route to the bar and restaurant which in turn was brightened up with new windows and a lighter and nautical feel to the furnishings. The rooms in turn were stripped of their traditional feel and embraced the sea. A window seat in the room, a slit window to view the sea from the bathroom and smokey blue and limed timber all combine to give the smaller rooms an airy generosity. The larger rooms, also stripped back enjoy a terrace, lighter bathrooms, generous leather headboards and shades of blue and dusty green.
