Jacobs Inn
Talbot Place, Dublin
A tired hostel but with an incredible occupancy, this was a project undertaken for Tetrarch Capital in 2016. By maximising the rooms on the upper floors we were able to create more space on the ground floor for communal functions. As a dry hostel with no bar, the clientele was very varied. Families with young children, school children from home and abroad along with your classic back packer all needed to be accommodated. A palette of bright colours and a mix of seating types, new access to a cinema room, a well equipped kitchen and dining tables doubling up as games tables, all added up to a transformed experience for the guest. With an uplift in the rate per room and no reduction in the number of beds, the hostel was sold on at a considerable profit shortly after.
