1878 Members Club 3Arena
North Wall Quay, Dublin 1

The 3 Arena has a number of Members’ Clubs. Members access these clubs before, during and after events to meet, eat and drink. We were initially brought in to look at The 1878 Club which is located within the original section of the building (built in 1878) which fronts onto the River Liffey. Tall ceilings, stone walls, this room oozes natural charm but its décor was utilitarian: brown faux leathers and rows of the same furniture. We worked with the existing infrastructure on a tight budget to transform the rooms with plush red, blue and mustard upholstery in a mixture of banquettes, chesterfields and quirky armchairs.

Subsequently we were asked to look at its sister club, Level 3 to bring it in line with the 1878 Club. A more modern space carved out of the space beneath tiers of seating this area could take brighter pops of colour and pattern, arranged so that the array of seating types, sizes and configurations allow for a multitude of flexibility.
