The Morrison Hotel
Ormond Quay Lower, Dublin 1

Hard to imagine now but in 1997 Dublin’s Ormond Quay was a very quiet spot when Publican Hugh O Regan bought the former Ormond Printing Works. Developed as the Morrison Hotel, I had the great fortune to work on this project whilst with Douglas Wallace as the Project Architect with Hugh Wallace and O Regan as well as the designer John Rocha and artist Clea Van de Grijn. Having worked on the shell and core, I followed on with the design of the Interiors, and so began a career where Architecture and Interiors would always be linked. It opened in 2000 with a phase 2 in 2005. It won many awards and was my introduction to many great people with whom I still work today. I went on to work with Hugh O Regan in-house in 2005 on many interesting projects before I set up my own practice 18 months later with Hugh as a client.
